On The Border is located in Times Square Mall and is open until 10:30pm. Great for a post-shopping restaurant to reenergize after a long day of shopping. The atmosphere is the Mexican-theme version of Applebee’s. Commercialized Mexican culture hangs on the walls. The place is a great family restaurant and completely unpretentious.
Complimentary Chips and Salsa!
Since you basically get unlimited tortilla chips and spicy salsa, you might as well invite the guacamole dip to the party. The guacamole was creamy and used ripe avacadoes and fresh ingredients. The only down side to this dish was that they gave about 150g (I’m only eyeballing it here) and it costs 8,000. Don’t let the large serving dish mislead you, there’s a substantial layer of chopped iceberg lettuce underneath! Still, the guacamole is not a bad option if you’re looking for a more hearty experience with your chips.
Three layers of tortilla shells and and a generous helping of chicken, onions, and peppers inside, the double quesadilla was enough the main dish of our meal and can easily feed two considering the chips and beer.
