Soju Hanjan in Jeongja-dong

Soju Hanjan is a popular drinking house, or suljip, in the Jeongja neighborhood. The first thing you notice about this place is the inviting design of the building. The entire front facade is composed of multiple folding walls, which are opened during the nice weather. During most days of the week, the establishment is usually fairly busy with people, providing for a great atmosphere if you enjoy a buzzing environment.

We ordered the following:
오돌뼈와 주먹밥
"Stir-fried cartilage and rice balls"
16,000

The side dish that we were served was:
누룽지 & 단무지
"Burned, crispy rice & pickled radish"

They serve the rice balls with plastic food gloves and after mixing the ingredients and rolling everything into small balls, the end result looks something like this:

So, for a vibrant, energetic atmosphere and moderately-priced food (around ₩50,000 for two people including soju and draft beer), Soju Hanjan is a safe bet if you're looking for a good night out the next time you're in the Jeongja neighborhood.
